Event Information
On Saturday, February 9th, the Sac Kids First Coalition is hosting a youth canvass and cultural exchange event. The event will be meeting at Nielson Park (7596 Center Parkway, Sacramento, Ca 95823), from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. We are looking forward to having youth join us from throughout Sacramento, as well as from Oakland and Richmond. This event will be largely youth led, and will emphasize youth voice and exchange. Here is a tentative schedule for the day:
10:00 am – Meet at Nielson, Youth-led canvass training
10:30 am – Split into teams, begin signature gathering
1:00 pm – Meet back at Nielson park, prayer, lunch provided
1:30 pm – Youth leaders facilitate leadership development/cultural exchange workshop
- Focus on finding common threads in each of our communities, and sharing youth led organizing initiatives for change.
2:15 pm – Talent/Art Exchange/Rally
3:00 pm – Break/Clean up
